Join us as we learn about the wonderful world of okonomiyaki!

You'll learn about the history of okonomiyaki and the process of manufacturing, bottling and shipping okonomi sauce.
Take a behind-the-scenes tour of our factory, experience the history and culture of Hiroshima through okonomiyaki at the Wood Egg Okonomiyaki museum and learn to make your own savory pancake in our okonomiyaki cooking class. (Reservation required)

Factory & museum tour

We'll show you what a day at the Otafuku factory looks like and what goes into creating a bottle of Japan's favorite okonomi sauce.
Take in the sights, sounds, smells and flavors of okonomiyaki culture as you learn about Japan's favorite pancake.
We'll tour the Wood Egg Okonomiyaki museum as well and learn about the history of okonomiyaki and the vital role it plays in Japanese culture.
※This course is guided in Japanese.

Hiroshima Okonomiyaki Cooking Class(with hot plate)

You'll learn cooking tips and tricks that you can use to cook okonomiyaki at home.
Okonomiyaki experience using a professional griddle is available at Hiroshima Station OKOSTA.

Okonomiyaki Museum Tour

We introduce our company and factory with VTR.
The staff will guide you to the museum "Okono Museum" that introduces the history and culture of Okonomiyaki.
You can also see the showroom, which features Otafuku Sauce, products of group companies and original goods.
※This course is guided in Japanese.

Okonomiyaki Museum Tour (free admission)

Reservations required for groups of 7 or more. No reservations needed for smaller parties.
Learn about okonomiyaki and the vital role the dish played in Japan's post-WWII reconstruction era.
See the sauce-making process and learn how Otafuku grew from a small retail shop to one of Japan's largest sauce makers.

    This class is taught on the 10th of every month. We provide special ingredients to make Hiroshima Okonomiyaki.

    Each month, we'll feature new seasonal ingredients and toppings.(Professional Griddle Used  Okonomiyaki)

     Drinking on site is not permitted. Guests who appear inebriated will have their reservation canceled and be asked to

       reschedule their visit.

     ・Food items made in class may not be taken home. Please consume all food items in the studio.

     ・As we have limited parking, please make a reservation in advance.Please obey all parking lot regulations

     ・Children younger than 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

     ・Please contact us by phone for any change or cancellation after you make a reservation.

     ・If you must cancel your reservation, we will retain a portion of the amount charged as a cancellation fee. Please see the
       following cancellation fee schedule:

          Seven days prior the date of the reservation: 20% of the total reservation Three days prior the date of the reservation :
       50% of the total reservation On the day : 100% of the total reservation

     ・Events may be canceled due to weather or disaster.

About the Wood Egg Museum

  • ・Admission is free.
    Please contact us to schedule a group visit
  • ・The exhibits contain content that is appropriate for children ages 6+
  • ・We do not have a designated space for children to play or nurse.

About the Factory

  • ・The production line may not be in operation depending on the production schedule.
  • ・Strollers are not permitted in the factory.
    (Please leave your strollers at the reception desk.)
  • ・Part of the tour will be conducted outdoors.
  • ・Factory slippers will be required to enter the factory.
